FOSTEX headphone amplifier HP-A8 (fall headphone festival 2011)

The reason why I put spring headphone festival 2011 is that I would like to introduce fall headphone festival 2011.

FOSTEX company exhibited headphone amplifier "HP-A8"  that carries 32bit DAC and headphone "TH900" in fall headphone festival 2011.

Regarding both new works, released date and prices are revealed.

HP-A8 that carries AKM 32bi DAC "AK4399" and high-end model of HP-A series.

When using MAC, you can transfer signal of 192 kHz/32bit via USB.
In case of Windows, 24bit is the maximum.

The outstanding point is it carries SD/SDHC card slot and makes it possible to reproduce DSD file stored in SD card.

The person in charge stated that FOSTEX thinks of reproducing DSD via USB in the near future by software update.

Seiko released 130th anniversary watches from 5 sports.

The models are SARZ002, SARZ006, SARZ010, SARZ014.

Headphone festival 2011 spring Vol.2

In Fostex booth, HP-P1 that is portable headphone amplifire with Disital/Analog converter of iPhone /iPod was exhibited.

Visitors brought their own headphone and tried it.

Fostex Brand-new headphone was exhibited as reference too.
Chinese lacquer is fully used for this body.
Everything including release date is not fixed yet though, the price is expected to be around $1500.

Besides headphone amp HP-A3 was exhibited too.
This headphone festival is really fascinating!

Headphone festival 2011 spring Vol.1 -STAX-

There are many audio festival in Japan.

About 6 months ago spring headphone festival 2011 was held in Tokyo Aoyama.

Many brands exhibited their works and of course Shure attracted many headphone followers.

In my opinion, Stax was impressive! In the booth, you could try lots of their products.
Above all SR-009 was really popular which is flagship model released 2011.

This model is condenser type headphone that carries new technology sound unit.

Many visitors felt interest in this Stax SR-009 and enjoyed it.

Of course SR-407 was also impressive needless to say.

In addition, condenser type headphone SRS-005S was also exibited. Fanatic followers asked questions to staffs since the shape reminds them of SR-003.

Accuphase DP-900 DC-901

Tokyo international audio show 2011 was held by early November.
Accuphase exhibited many new works  announced this year in their booth.


You could try the sound quality through a variety of demo.

JBL "Project Everest" "DD66000" and Avalon Acoustics "Diamond" were used as speaker.

 About separate type CD player, high-end SACD transport DP-900 and MDSD digital processor DC-901 were exhibited.

These are Accuphase 40th anniversary model and extremely expensive.
Of course these specification is worthy of flagship model.

Regarding preamp, C-2820 had attracted many visitors. This is C-2810's succession model that carries AAVA as volume control technology.

Japanese Girls Award

Last time I wrote about "award" Seiko Prospex.

The word "award" reminds me of the girls fashion show that I went last night.
That was held in Tokyo Harajuku.

There were so many beautiful, cute Japanese models walking down on the platform
to introduce each brand's new works.

These models are under exclusive contract to Japanese famous fashion magazines.

Surprisingly the most of audience was girls who really loves fashion!

I had tried to get closer to the stage and had good time!!

I introduced "good design prize" and SEIKO PROSPEX SBDX011 was nominated by them last time and I found the article about it in one of Japanese newspaper by chance.

There are car design, laundry design and even university campus among them.

 " The good design prize" is overall design evaluation system which Japan design council has been hosting. The products has to have outstanding history and scale for its design. Conveyor belt sushi or sushi-go-round?

Last night I went to kaiten-zushi to eat sushi in Tokyo Shinjyuku.

Personally I love to go there because it's very reasonable for people like me.

I am wondering if the other countries have this style sushi bar because I  have never heard what to say in English about this.

This is popular style here in Japan for common people.
Rich people would go normal sushi restaurant where sushi doesn't go round but to me that's not fun at all!!

Hope other countries would import this style unless you have.

Anyhow everything was so delicious!!

LUXMAN in Tokyo international audio show

From 11/3/2011 Tokyo international audio show has started. In the LUXMAN booth, brand-new pre-main amplifier “L-305” appeared for the first time in public.

This L-305 takes” parallel push pull” and the output is 50w＋50w(8Ω) The feature is that the wood box is used just like “CL-38u”. According to the staff, it will be released sometime around spring in 2012.
And also “L-505uX”is exhibited which will be sold in this month. The Champagne gold model is also exhibited.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Japanese restaurant "Jonathan"

One of my favorite Manga is  "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure". 

When I was junior high school student, this manga became to popular and since then  "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" is still extremely hot now here in Japan.

Back then  I didn't expected this manga would catch on very well abroad.

By the way, In the  Chapter1 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, the main character's name is "Jonathan Joestar". ( Above picture is Josef Joestar.)

His  name comes from the Japanese diner "Jonathan"I wrote last time in my blog .

I  go there by myself. 

The reason is the author "Hirohiko Araki" often arranged meetings at Japanese restaurant "Jonathan".  I am impressed how imaginative he is.

This is interesting isn't it?

His old enemy "DIO" is quite attractive too!!  

Japanese diner

I often go to Japanese diner for relaxing. There are several diners here in Japan Of course  there is Dennys as well.

One of my favorite is called "Jonathan".

You can drink any drinks as much as you like as long as you pay $4.
I go there for reading, studying. doing my business.

I ate "fish "set meal. Miso soup and rice is really good with eating fish.　It was really tasty.
